💃 Try Something New! Bachata & Kizomba Classes!

💃 🕺 Every Thursday night, La Vagabunda 38 turns into one of the most fun dance spots in Playa. Think smooth Kizomba, upbeat Bachata, and a crowd that just wants to move. It all starts at 7 PM with a free dance class led by Daniel Durán. If you’ve been wanting to try these Latin rhythms, now’s your chance. No partner or experience needed—just show up and have fun.

Stick around after class for social dancing and DJ Mistura, who keeps the vibes going strong from 9 PM to 11 PM. Plus, there’s a Happy Hour menu all night long, so you can sip and spin under the stars. The whole night is powered by Nelser Dance Studio, and it's happening every Thursday at La Vagabunda, on the corner of Calle 38 and Calle Flamingo.

🏴‍☠️ The Pirates of Jazz are Coming to Buzo’s!

🎷 The Pirates of Jazz are docking in Playa! On May 3rd at 8:00 p.m., set sail for Buzos Restaurant in Playa del Carmen for a one-of-a-kind multicultural crossover show that blends jazz, flair, and a little musical rebellion.

Helmed by “Ship Cap’n” Andre Krengel, an acclaimed guitarist from Germany, this international crew features Manuel Pinos on clarinet (Barcelona) and Justin Powell on bass and vocals (USA). Special guests include the extraordinary violinist Sofia Lynch (Ukraine) and powerhouse singer Renatta Rivera (Mexico).

Expect a high-energy night of musical storytelling, bold improvisation, and global rhythms with all the great food and drinks you have come to expect from Buzo’s. Whether you're a jazz lover or just in the mood for something wildly creative, this is not your average night out. Permission to board: 200 pesos at the door!

🪅 Step Back in Time at the Feria El Cedral on Cozumel!

🪅 If you’re looking for a truly local experience in early May, make your way to El Cedral, a small village about 18 km south of San Miguel de Cozumel. From now through May 4, the Feria El Cedral is in full swing—a colorful blend of tradition, culture, music, and food that’s been celebrated since 1847 in honor of Santa Cruz.

This is one of the island’s most cherished events, with deep roots in Maya and Mexican heritage. During the first days of May, you’ll find traditional processions, regional dancing like the jarana yucateca, live music, and delicious street food everywhere you turn—think cochinita pibil, tamales, panuchos, and marquesitas hot off the griddle.

There’s also traditional vaquerías, horse races, rodeo events, and plenty of family-friendly rides and artisan stalls, all adding to the festive vibe. Whether you go for the culture, the cuisine, or just to dance under the stars, the Feria ElCedral is a one-of-a-kind way to experience real Mexico in the heart of Cozumel.

🏴‍☠️ Playa del Carmen Pirate’s Gold Scavenget Hunt!

🔍️ Looking for a fun way to explore Playa del Carmen with friends or family? 🎨 Exhibition of Womens’ Art at Playa’s Municipal Palace Gallery

👩‍🎨 If you’re interested in Mexican art history, don’t miss this special exhibition celebrating “The First Women Artists of the Antigua Academia de San Carlos”. Based on the research of Dr. Elizabeth Fuentes Rojas, the exhibit showcases rarely seen works from the FAD/UNAM collection and shines a light on the trailblazing women who helped shape Mexico’s artistic legacy.

The exhibition will remain on display through May 22 at the Art Gallery on the ground floor of the Palacio Municipal in downtown Playa del Carmen. It’s a thoughtful, beautifully curated glimpse into a lesser-known chapter of art history—worth a visit if you’re in the area.
